Damien Molony Nominated for Ian Charleson Award for ‘Tis Pity

 

Damien Molony has been nominated for the prestigious Ian Charleson Award for his performance in ‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore.

Damien appeared in ‘Tis Pity In May 2011 at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, receiving positive reviews for his intense and engaging performance as angst ridden Giovanni in John Ford’s play, possibly one for the most controversial in english literature.

 

 

The Ian Charleson Awards began in 1991 in memory of the actor who put in an incredible final performance as the National’s Hamlet before he passed in 1990. The award honours the best performances in British classical theatre by young actors under the age of 30.

The ceremony for The Sunday Times / National Theatre Ian Charleson Awards will take place at the National Theatre in London next Friday, 18 May 2012.
