Originally written by Roddy Doyle and most famously known for it’s incarnation as the iconic 1991 Irish cult film, The Commitments is a story of young working class Dubliners who form a soul band. Currently making it’s world debut in the West End as a musical, the radio version has been adapted by Eugene O’Brien, is directed by Jim Sheridan and produced by Gemma McMullan. The cast includes Colm Meaney, Gavin Friday, Devon Murray and Sarah Greene, with music provided by Irish rock band The Riptide Movement

The BBC Northern Ireland Radio Drama production will air on BBC Radio 4, December 15th.

**UPDATE** According to his Spotlight page, Damien will be playing James Clifford, the pianist in the original novel.
