The Body Of An American has received four Off West End Theatre Awards nominations, including Best Male for Damien and William Gaminara, joint leads in the 2 man play.
Written by Dan O’Brien, the play is also nominated for Best New Play, with James Dacre nominated for Best Director.

After a highly successful run at The Gate Theatre (London) 16 January – 14 February and The Royal & Derngate (Northampton) 27 February – 8 March, The Body Of An American received excellent reviews for both production and performances. With only the two actors performing a multitude of roles using different accents in a fast-paced dialogue, and close-up staging with a vivid backdrop of footage and filming, it has been described as innovative and intimate. A minimalist set comprising two chairs and a narrow run way covered with ‘snow’, placed the audience inches away from the actors, resulting in an intense and unique live theatre experience, exactly the kind recognised by The Off West End Theatre Awards, which aim to

celebrate the excellence, innovation and ingenuity of independent theatres across London”

and

help raise the profile and status of independent theatres in London by giving them greater power to promote their work individually and collectively and to reward the new talent that they nurture.”
