Damien joined film industry bods and other actors at the 2013 First Light Awards on 19 March at the London Odeon in Leicester Square. The event celebrates the work of talented young filmmakers across the uk.
Damien presented the Young Voice Award, for best Documentary films by over 13s, alongside MyAnna Buring. Watch the prize giving and Damien’s speech in the video below.
After the awards ceremony Damien wrote on his twitter page:
Unbelievably talented people celebrated today at the #FirstLightAwards13 … So delighted to give out the Young Voice Award to Somerset Film

The award went to Somerset Film, for their entry ‘Days That Made Us’, a “frank and powerful documentary” about a group of young offenders sharing their experiences and journey into crime.
