Damien Molony reads ‘He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven’ by W.B. Yeats – Audio clip

BBC Radio 4 have kindly uploaded a clip of Damien reading the W.B. Yeats poem ‘He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven’ from Sunday’s broadcast of ‘Poetry Please’.

Damien was the actor reader on the BBC Radio 4 Poetry Please Yeats special, which also featured voices from the archives, including Yeats himself, Seamus Heaney, Sinead Cusack and Steven Rea.

Reading five poems and one extract in total, Damien’s expressive Irish accent brought Yeats alive in a magical thirty minute broadcast.

The whole episode is now available on the BBC Radio iplayer, but only for five more days! Click here to listen.

The Poetry Please Yeats Special featuring readings by Damien Molony is repeated 11.30pm Saturday 6 September on BBC Radio 4.
