SUSPECTS nominated for Best Original Programme in 2015 Broadcast Awards

The 2015 Broadcast Awards shortlist has been announced and Suspects has been nominated for Best Original Programme.

The show will go up against Crackanory (Tiger Aspect Productions for Dave),Glasgow Girls (Minnow Films for BBC Three), Inside No. 9 (BBC Comedy Production London for BBC Two), Release The Hounds (Gogglebox Entertainment for ITV2) and The Island With Bear Grylls (Shine TV for Channel 4).

The Awards recognise the best of British TV and celebrate “innovative formats, heart-breaking drama, rollicking comedy and sparkling entertainment” and reach their 20th anniversary in 2015. The winners will be announced at an award ceremony 4 February next year at Grosvenor House, London.

Having also received a nomination for Best Drama in the 2015 National Television Awards, we are delighted to see our favourite cop show, the creators (Paul Marquess and writers), production team (Newman Street as part of Fremantlemedia UK) and lead actors – Damien (DS Jack Weston), Fay Ripley (DI Martha Bellamy) and Clare-Hope Ashitey (DC Charlie Steele) receiving the recognition they so richly deserve.

With a groundbreaking, entirely unique format, documentary style filming and improvised dialogue, Suspects ticks all the boxes for “best original programme”, a stand-alone TV show more deserving of the accolade than any other, and in our eyes, is already a winner.

Suspects returns for Series 3 January 2015, on Channel 5 UK.
