Our first glimpse of Damien as his character Danny in the upcoming drama comes via RTÉ and the Irish Times, where he is pictured with co-stars Kelly Thornton, Adam Fergus and Aidan McArdle.

The four-part series will air post watershed on Sunday nights during Autumn, on Irish TV Channel RTÉ One. Damien completed filming on a seven week shoot in Ireland in December last year.

Channel controller Adrian Lynch has confirmed the possibility of a second series, depending how the first is received.

“It depends on how it lands with the audience. That’s kind of the judge for everything. We make programmes for the audience. So it is all down to how it will be received,”

Set in Wexford, Ireland, Clean Break “tells the tale of a community driven by love, greed, status and revenge” and we now have an additional tagline for the drama “Desperate man, desperate measures, dire results” from RTÉ One, who released the first sneak peek of Clean Break in a new season trailer.

Damien attended the RTÉ new season launch and was interviewed on the drama panel, alongside co-stars Kelly Thornton and Amybeth McNulty.

Clean Break is written by Billy Roche (The Eclipse), directed by Gillies MacKinnon (Behind the Lines) and Damien O’Donnell (East is East) and produced by Octagon Films and 152 Productions, the new four-part drama series is due to air in 2015 on RTÉ One.
