Damien Molony joins Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in ‘NO MAN’S LAND’

Damien returns to the stage in BIG new role!

Exciting news Molonians! Our favourite actor is soon to return to the stage in a theatre masterpiece with master actors.

Damien has been cast in No Man’s Land, appearing alongside Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen. The announcement came via the official No Man’s Land Twitter Page today.

The production is directed by Sean Mathias and is heading to the UK in August 2016 following a hit run on Broadway.

Written by nobel prize winner Harold Pinter in 1974, the play features four main characters. Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart play Spooner and Hirst, Damien will be playing Foster, with Owen Teale rounding out the cast as Briggs.

One summer’s evening, two ageing writers, Hirst and Spooner, meet in a Hampstead pub and continue their drinking into the night at Hirst’s stately house nearby. As the pair become increasingly inebriated, and their stories increasingly unbelievable, the lively conversation soon turns into a revealing power game, further complicated by the return home of two sinister younger men. Speaking on the play and Damien’s casting, director Sean Mathias commented:

Directing No Man’s Land in America proved to be one of the greatest joys in my career. Always challenging but bringing immense rewards too. Like a prospector mining for diamond nuggets. I look forward to working on this new production with Ian, Patrick, Owen and Damien and discovering all kinds of unexpected jewels together.”

No Man’s Land will tour he UK across four venues before reaching London for a 14 week run.

The play opens in Sheffield at the Lyceum theatre, from 3 – 13 August, then heads to Newcastle from 15 -20 August at the Theatre Royal, Brighton from 22 – 27 August at the Theatre Royal, and Cardiff, from 29 August – 3 September at the New Theatre. Damien’s acting talent has delighted audiences in an incredible range of projects across his career, in television, film, radio and theatre. He last appeared on stage in National Theatre Tom Stoppard production The Hard Problem early 2015. We are thrilled he is returning to ‘tread the boards’ this year in Pinter’s comic masterpiece, “one of the most brilliantly entertaining plays”, and could not be more excited for him to appear alongside two of acting’s finest legends.
