Mark your calendars Molonians, Damien will be back on BBC Radio 4 Sunday 27 February, reading ‘Bottle Man‘ by Nicole Flattery.
According to the official BBC programme details, the short story is a “darkly comedic tale of failed relationships and golf that answers that age old question: ‘Why would a man move into a glass bottle?'”.
Produced by BBC Belfast for Radio 4, Bottle Man is part of a series of specially commissioned short stories celebrating the work of Ireland’s most exciting writers.
His upcoming appearance will be Damien’s twelfth on Radio 4, making his debut on the channel in 2013, reading short story Student Stories, followed by BBC NI Radio Drama’s production of William Trevor’s The Hill Bachelors and Jim Sheridan’s adaptation of The Commitments. In 2015 he was the actor reader in a series showcasing new Irish writing, reading Eimear McBride’s short story Me and The Devil and he has given readings in seven BBC Poetry Please programmes. His biggest voice work to date is his first audiobook Raven, released in 2015.
Bottle Man airs on BBC Radio 4, 7.45pm 26 February 2017. The programme will be available to listen live and on catch up, UK and internationally, here!
