Damien has given blood for the fourteenth time, continuing his campaign to highlight the importance of donating, and encouraging others to follow his example.

Sharing the short post-donation video below on his Instagram page, our fave actor thanked the donation centre and appealed to others, “Have you ever given blood? Please take a moment to sign up to @givebloodnhs Every donation helps to save lives. And then you get free biscuits!”

And he is right. It is very easy to register to give blood, to find your nearest donation centre and even book your appointment online, there is also an app to make it even more convenient. You will be very well looked after (and get free biscuits!).

But most importantly, this is something you can do, for free, to really make a difference in this world, to save lives.

In the words of the children in the World Poetry Day video below:

“Even what’s in your veins can do amazing good
And most grown-ups can spare a pint of blood
People need your blood to make them well
Those with diseases like cancer and sickle cell
How can you help? You may say
It’s easy… just sign up today!”

If you are generally healthy, over 17 and want to do something that takes little of your time but truly makes a difference, don’t hesitate, take action today.
