Suspects Series 2: new promo trailer and UK air date late August

A new teaser for Suspects Series 2 aired last night on Channel 5, heralding the imminent return of the show.

The trailer voiceover announced: “critically acclaimed crime drama returns, the brand new series of Suspects coming soon to channel 5”.

First glimpses of series 2 footage have also debuted in a ‘New Drama’ trailer for the channel, alongside other upcoming shows.

The new series was originally slated to return this Autumn, but it may be premiering even sooner – Digital Spy report that DS Jack Weston (Damien), DI Martha Bellamy (Fay Ripley) and DC Charlie Steele (Claire-Hope Ashitey) will be back on our tv screens late August.

Series 2 will open with an exciting 2-part special and a star-studded guest cast, including Charlie Brooks (Eastenders, I’m A Celebrity), Dominic Power (Emmerdale, The Bill), Claire Cooper (Hollyoaks), Katie Jarvis (Fish Tank) and Luke Newberry (In The Flesh).

The exact air date is yet to be announced, watch this space for news as it happens.

Suspects is produced by Newman Street (part of FremantleMedia UK) for Channel 5.
