Suspects Series 2 kicks off 20 and 21 August with a double bill premiere and Channel 5 has released two brand new trailers. The clips give us our first proper glimpse at the new series, storylines and characters – and the complex case facing DI Martha Bellamy (Fay Ripley), DS Jack Weston (Damien) and DC Charlie Steele (Clare-Hope Ashitey) in episode 1.

In the first of the 2-part story, the team investigate what Jack suspects is a sex game gone very wrong and begin to unravel the events that took place at a barrister’s home where he was found with severe head injuries.

The opening episode is also filled with an abundance of new suspects, played by Dominic Power (Emmerdale, The Bill), Charlie Brooks (Eastenders, I’m A Celebrity), Claire Cooper (Hollyoaks), Katie Jarvis (Fish Tank) and Luke Newberry (In The Flesh).

The debut series of Suspects opened to critical acclaim earlier in the year and if this first look is anything to go by, the second is going to be even better. After months of excited anticipation, Series 2 we are ready for you!

Suspects Series 2 Episode 1 airs 10pm Wednesday 20 August on Channel 5.
