We didn’t think Suspects could get any more intensely gripping or take us any closer to the edge-of-the-seat, but Channel 5 have today released the new Series 3 trailer ahead of the show’s return on Tuesday 13 January and it looks like we are about to be proven wrong.

Damien (DS Jack Weston), Fay Ripley (DI Martha Bellamy) and Clare-Hope Ashitey (DC Charlie Steele) star, as they return to fight more crime in the critically acclaimed police drama.

We saw the tiniest bit of first footage from the new series in an exclusive clip on The Wright Stuff before Christmas, where Martha tells Jack this is his “last chance” after his return from an enforced leave of absence.

The new trailer reveals even more, with glimpses of upcoming episodes showing Martha speculating about a serial killer, Charlie questioning her prior actions and Jack as the victim of an assault, as the team get stuck into challenging new cases.

Check it out below.

The new series includes four brand new instalments of the gritty drama, each investigation bringing new suspects to the interview rooms at CID HQ.
The three lead actors will be joined for the series premiere by guest cast Emmett J. Scanlan (The Fall, Constantine, Hollyoaks), Ben Peel (The Fall, Hunger), Kathryn Drysdale (Benidorm, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps) and James McConville (Sweeney Todd). Chris Coghill, (24 Hour Party People, EastEnders), Jody Latham (Shameless, Waterloo Road), Ray Fearon (Da Vinci’s Demons, The Hooligan Factory) and Lucy Gaskell (Being Human, Misfits, Casualty) also star in series 3.

Suspects Series 3 episode 1 premieres 10pm Tuesday 13 January on channel 5.

Suspects is series-produced by Kara Manley for Newman Street (part of FremantleMedia UK), and co-created and executive-produced by Paul Marquess for Channel 5.
